Vintage is Back!

Posted by Administrator on 23 Jul 2011 / 0 Comment

Vintage bridal gowns have been seen more frequently these days than ever before. So commonly we see the cookie cutter wedding dress….A-line, strapless, and white. However, now brides want a more timeless, elegant look. But what makes a vintage gown so appealing? A vintage wedding dress contains more elements of classic textiles, fabrics, and color. For example, a common vintage gown would be more ivory than white, and perhaps have capped sleeves instead of a strapless dress. Other key components are the fabric covered buttons, sashes, and Alencon lace.  Cream, ivory, and beige are considered more of the vintage color scheme. These dresses have a theme of appearing classic, rather than sexy. However, just because you’re not looking like Carmen Elektra down the isle doesn’t mean that that a vintage bridal gown can’t give you the same feeling of elegance and beauty. Vintage dresses can still come in all the same styles of any other dress. Vintage doesn’t mean you can’t be strapless, it just means there is a different tone going on for the overall gown.
